Special requirements

At Air Greenland we believe it is very important that you feel we are giving you the best possible service.

If you are flying with us and need special assistance, or you know someone else who does, please note that you can book/order help at the place where you buy your trip. If you book your flight on line and need assistance, contact Air Greenland by mail at websupport@airgreenland.gl well in advance and at least 48 hours before departure.

We provide special assistance for:

  • Handicapped passengers, in the form of wheelchair assistance
  • Unaccompanied children.
  • Passengers with infants in the form of a carry cot on board our Airbus, Norsaq.
  • Elderly passengers, in the form of assistance with baggage, etc.
  • Passengers who have difficulty communicating with station personnel due to language, in the form of interpreters and help where possible.
  • Passengers who require assistance for other reasons.

Information about your request for assistance will, after your booking, show up on your reservation and Air Greenland’s station personnel will be able to see this when you check in. Help will be there, if you already require assistance at check-in.
Directly after departure, the next station will be informed about your need for assistance and we will get ready to meet you. In this way, we will follow you until you arrive safely at your destination. So if you require special assistance, please remember to notify the salesperson when you book your trip. Note that there is an administration charge for some services and that not all services are available for all departures.

Wheelchair passengers
If you are dependent upon a wheelchair, it will be carried free of charge and must be checked-in with the luggage. The wheelchair must be packaged so that it cannot be damaged or cause damage to other luggage. Whilst your wheelchair is packaged you can borrow a wheelchair at the transit airport. If you use a wheelchair, please let us know well in advance, so we can be ready to help you upon arrival and onwards if you are continuing on another flight.

Blind
A blind passenger with a guide dog is permitted to bring the guide dog on board the aircraft, but the dog must be on a lead and must wear a muzzle. The dog may not take up a seat and must not block the aisle. If you are flying to and from Denmark, you may be required to obtain a permit for the dog. Contact us well in advance so we can ensure you have a problem-free journey.

Medicine during the journey
Remember to pack necessary medicines in your hand baggage. If you are dependent upon supplemental oxygen during your trip, please advise us well in advance of your departure.
