Hotel Arctic A/S The hotel is situated in Greenland’s number one tourist destination, the town of Ilulissat in Disko Bay, 400 km north of the Arctic Circle. The hotel is considered to be Greenland’s best and both the hotel and the conference facilities have a four star classification. The hotel has 66 rooms, 22 of which are superior rooms, two suites, conference facilities consisting of two conference halls and two meeting rooms, a restaurant, a brasserie and a bar. In recent years, Hotel Arctic has been the setting for important international conferences, amongst them EU summit meetings, meeting for senators and members of congress from the USA and large international companies. |

Arctic Umiaq Line A/S This company was originally founded in 1774 under the name Den Kongelige Grønlandske Handel (Royal Greenland Trading Company) and operated shipping between Denmark and Greenland and in Greenland with both cargo and passengers. In time cargo and passenger traffic was split up and in 2006 Air Greenland and Royal Arctic Line, which is a shipping company, joined in a partnership and took over the company. Arctic Umiaq Line now only undertakes the transport of passengers along the west coast of Greenland between Narsarsuaq in the south and Ilulissat in the north. |
