Your luggage allowance is 20 kilos –for travellers on business class the allowance is 30 kilos – and one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kilos. Air Greenland also offers several alternatives with regard to luggage
Hand luggage:
All passengers are, in addition to checked luggage, allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage with max. dimensions 50 x 40 x 23 cm and weighing max. 8 kilos. This hand-luggage must be presented at check-in where it may be weighed. You will be given a date-stamped tag. Hand-luggage that does not have a tag will be refused at the gate. For security reasons and because of space restrictions on domestic flights, only one piece of hand luggage is allowed. However, tax free goods are allowed without a hand luggage tag. Air Greenland reserves the right to stow extra hand luggage in the aircraft’s hold.
It is always a good idea to carry any medication you need in your hand luggage to avoid problems if your checked luggage is delayed.
Before you pack your hand luggage please note the special regulations for liquids and creams carried in hand luggage.
In addition to the free luggage allowance, the following may also be taken on board:
• one small handbag/purse
• one small camera/binoculars
• reading material for the journey
• one coat or one cape
• one blanket
• one umbrella or walking stick

Your luggage is weighed at check-in. It must not weigh more than 20 kilos when you travel on economy class and 30 kilos on business class. Your luggage is tagged for your final destination and a copy of the luggage tag is stuck to your itinerary. Look after your luggage tag, you may need it to identify your luggage if it is lost or delayed. It is also your receipt and it will be required it you have to make an insurance claim.
Before you pack, please be aware of which objects you are not permitted to bring in your checked luggage. See the list here.
Excess baggage:
It’s a good idea to check how much your luggage weighs before you go to the airport. If it weighs more than 20 or 30 kilos respectively, a charge will be made for every commenced kilo. The charge is calculated as a percentage of the normal price on the route you are flying. For example, in 2007 on the route between Kangerlussuaq/Narsarsuaq and Copenhagen the charge is DKK 60 per leg, between Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq DKK 32 and between Qaqortoq and Narsarsuaq DKK 12.
We kindly ask you to notify us if you have luggage in excess of 75 kg above the allowance. Please note, however, that we cannot guarantee that the excess luggage will be on the same plane as you. Alternatively the luggage will be sent on the earliest departure available.
