The price of an Air Greenland flight is made up of a combination of elements such as the cost of the flight itself, taxes and surcharges. Some surcharges are imposed by Air Greenland, whilst credit card charges, fuel surcharges and airport taxes are completely outside Air Greenland’s influence although they are included in the total price.
On certain flights, airport taxes are actually higher than the cost of flying the actual stretch. Take this into consideration, if you think flying is expensive.
Overview of surcharges, fees and taxes as of July 1st, 2008:
In general: Air Greenland does not charge fees, taxes or surcharges for infants under the age of two.

Fuel surcharge:There is a fuel surcharge on routes to and from Denmark.
| Surcharge for a single flight | DKK 243.00 |
| Note: | As a result of high increases in the price of crude oil, we are unfortunately obliged to increase the fuel surcharge (YR-tax) on routes between Greenland and Denmark. The surcharge has gone up from DKK 153.00 to DKK 243.00 and applies to trips purchased after July 1st, 2008. All our increases are approved by the Civil Aviation Authorities. The size of the increase is calculated by Air Greenland on the basis of the current price of oil on the international market. |
Airport taxes:
Price example per person:
| Narsarsuaq/Kangerlussuaq to Copenhagen | DKK 328.00 |
| Copenhagen to Narsarsuaq/Kangerlussuaq | DKK 57.00 |

| Qaqortoq to Narsarsuaq | DKK 141.00 |
| Note: | Airport taxes are set by Mittarfeqarfiit/Greenland’s Civil Aviation Authority, a Greenland Home Rule institution. The tax is a supplement to the operating costs of airports and heliports and it varies widely, depending on the destination. For a return flight between Greenland and Copenhagen, the external costs amount to about DKK 800.00 – a significant part of the price of the trip. |
