On a makeshift runway in a remote valley. On a ledge on a mountain peak. Our fleet is made up of airplanes and helicopters that can land anywhere in Greenland - and our pilots have the experience to operate under challenging Arctic conditions.
All transport for the establishment and supply of a research station in an inaccessible and remote area? A base in the middle of the ice sheet? Airborne registration, such as counting whales?
Air Greenland has the equipment to perform any job for scientific expeditions and we have the know-how from hundreds of previous missions for researchers all over Greenland. We know every corner of this massive country and we are geared for the harsh climate.
Our fleet consists of 12 AS-350helicopters with room for five passengers and eight Bell 212 helicopters with room for nine passengers. Both types can quickly be changed from a passenger to cargo configuration and the sling can lift up to 1,000 to 1,200 kg.
For jobs on the ice sheet, we can complement our helicopters with Twin Otter aircraft from our Icelandic partner Nordlandair. The Twin Otter takes up to 19 passengers and can be fitted either with tundra wheels for rough terrain or skis for landing on ice and snow.
