Your journey begins in Nuuk, from where you’ll fly north to Ilulissat – the town by the ice fjord. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to the welcoming Hotel Arctic, where you’ll receive a welcome briefing to help you get oriented and ready for your stay. 
 
In the afternoon, you have the option to join a guided city tour and discover Ilulissat’s rich history and vibrant atmosphere. In the evening, indulge in a gourmet dinner at Restaurant Ulo and, if conditions allow, enhance the experience with a northern lights safari under the Arctic sky.

After breakfast at Hotel Arctic, your Arctic adventure begins. You’ll be picked up and transported by snowcat deep into the snowy wilderness. Nestled in the silence of the landscape lies Igloo Lodge – a cozy retreat surrounded by ice and mountains. You’ll be welcomed in the warm log cabin, where lunch is served with views of the frozen landscape. 

In the afternoon, one of the trip’s highlights awaits: Walking amongst giants – a guided snowmobile tour to a frozen side fjord, where you’ll continue on foot, literally walking among towering icebergs locked in place by the ice. It’s a breathtaking experience that blends speed, silence, and raw natural beauty. 

The evening includes dinner in the lodge, followed by storytelling around the table. If the skies are clear, you may head out for a northern lights hunt. You’ll spend the night in a real snow igloo – a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Optional: Walking amongst giants (snowmobile tour) or dog sledding  

After a peaceful morning and breakfast in the lodge, you’ll embark on a classic Greenlandic experience: a dog sled ride through the snowy landscape. As you glide behind a team of eager sled dogs, you’ll feel the wind on your face and hear only the rhythmic sound of paws and sled runners – a timeless journey through tradition and nature. 

Later in the day, you’ll return to Ilulissat and check back into Hotel Arctic. In the afternoon, you can join an unforgettable ice fjord cruise – a guided boat trip among the towering icebergs of Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sail through sculpted ice formations bathed in the blue light of winter. 

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy. After so many experiences, perhaps a quiet moment at the hotel with a warm drink is just what you need.

After breakfast at Hotel Arctic, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight to Nuuk. Though the journey ends, the memories of snow igloos, northern lights, and Arctic adventures will stay with you for years to come.
