Direct flights between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen to continue in 2026
Air Greenland and Albatros Arctic Circle have signed a new agreement to continue the direct flight route between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen from 10 February to 20 October 2026. The route will be operated once a week by Jettime – every Tuesday – and is intended to support tourism to one of Greenland’s most popular destinations, while also improving access to Sisimiut and Ilulissat.
In 2025, Nuuk was included in the route between Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq with two weekly rotations from 17 March to 16 October. Based on the experience from the summer high season, the new agreement will ensure a more robust schedule, even though the direct route has been reduced to one weekly rotation.

“We have adjusted the schedule to support both tourism and local travel needs. The direct Tuesday flight from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq, combined with coordinated domestic connections, ensures efficient travel across the country. It’s a strong supplement for the many travellers heading to Kangerlussuaq, Sisimiut, and Ilulissat, as it provides a more reliable schedule,” says Mogens Jensen, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Air Greenland.
Albatros Arctic Circle has worked strategically for over 20 years to develop Kangerlussuaq as a tourist destination and is committed to expanding tourism beyond the summer high season in June, July, and August. The agreement also helps secure local jobs in the settlement.

“Kangerlussuaq is an attractive destination that we are proud to continue developing in collaboration with the local community and our dedicated staff. Having a direct flight route between Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq is crucial for building year-round activities. The fact that we can help maintain this direct connection in partnership with Air Greenland, which is adjusting several flights to and from Kangerlussuaq, is something we are both proud and pleased about,” says Jørgen Larsen, Director of Albatros Arctic Circle.
Air Greenland er nu i gang med at indsætte ruten i bookingsystemet og kombinere den med indenrigsrutenettet, hvorfor det kan vare lidt endnu, før man kan købe flyrejsen på airgreenland.dk.
